Babaa knit
Let’s chat! The most frequently asked question in my DM: “is the babaa itchy?”
The answer is – yes. However, it depends how well you can tolerate wool! It doesn’t bother me and I find it to be really warm, cozy, and I enjoy the texture! I wear it on the daily, in rotation and maybe my skin’s tolerance is high because it doesn’t bother me. I typically wear a t-shirt or tank under it anyway so it’s not too bad!
Here’s a rundown of my Babaa pieces!
Starting with my first Babaa, the classic turtleneck no17 in mist! I got it one year just after the Thanksgiving sale ended so I had to pay full price but I really wanted it and I got to open it for Christmas that year! Not to sound vain, but no 17 just photographs beautifully if you know what I mean. It’s dramatic in the perfect way! Absolutely adore it and I got another one secondhand in violetta (purple). Wearing color on a cold gloomy day is actually so mentally uplifting!
My most worn piece is probably cardigan no 23: I love the versatility of it! Since it’s a cardigan, you can wear it open or closed and also, I like that the collar is high because it keeps my neck warm and it’s cropped so it’s not overbearing and easier to wear under coats! I have the white one without buttons and I wear that one every morning (don’t judge me).
I got the jumper 12 last year in mist and I didn’t think I liked it that much until I got it and i love how practical it is. When I have to sit in a cold gym for my son’s basketball practice, this knit is like the perfect hug, Just this will do and it’s long enough on the arms and length and a small collar helps.
No 19 I had the dark mist but ended up selling. I just didn’t vibe with the fit of the cardigan and never reached for it and obviously you can tell I’m obsessed with mist and so I just didn’t quite like dark mist as much on me.
Cardigan no 17 was a good secondhand purchase and although I don’t think it photographs as nicely as the other cardigans, it’s warm and long but since it’s a v neck, still have to layer something warm under. If I had to say good bye to this cardigan, I think I would be ok but for now, I’ll keep her and enjoy it.
Jumper no 29 is the v neck knit with shorter arm length. I had initially really wanted the no 75 but the mist was sold out and I do wish I had waited to get a v neck sweater with longer arm sleeves because I don’t reach for this one as much as the others. The new no 87 is gorgeous and I would be totally down for a trade!
This is a fabulous breakdown. Long time babaa wearer over here too and I appreciate you spelling out what has and hasn’t worked for you. I have struggled with mist over the years because it seems to pull too cool (in color) at times! But it’s been years since I’ve tried on a most IRL. Do you find mist is warm or cool on you?
Thank you!! This is so helpful ☺️
